Now that I have the leather in its time to finish the pattern, which I create in polyfilm. While researching I noticed a lot of variations in the way people work with and cut leather, so I gathered a variety of tools and began test runs. Since I’m working with 3oz garment leather I ended up using a rotary cutter and scissors for most of the work.
This is a leather greybeard cloak featuring dozens of individually sewn dragon scales. There are two exterior pockets disguised as large dragon scales and a hidden pocket on the inside. This garment is fully lined with a silver paisley satin liner. This cloak comes as a set with a wool or linen sage robe and cowl, the one shown in this project is linen. The sleeves and bottom hem of the sage robe are adorned with a hand fringed trim, as are the pauldrons of the cloak.
